Phoenix Contact Innovation Ventures and aedifion continue to drive forward the role of buildings as an active part of the energy revolution

PropTech aedifion raises twelve million euros. In addition to lead investors World Fund and BeyondBuild, Phoenix Contact Innovation Ventures GmbH and other investors, including Drees & Sommer and MOMENI Ventures, strengthen the Series A round of new and existing investors.

Cologne-based PropTech company aedifion has raised €12 million in a Series A round from new and existing investors. Phoenix Contact Innovation Ventures GmbH and BitStone Capital are re-investing in the cloud platform as existing investors. Lead investors in the round are Europe's leading climate tech fund World Fund and BeyondBuild, a technology and investment platform for the construction and real estate industry, with participation from the family office of SAP's founding family Hopp. Other investors include Bauwens, Drees & Sommer and MOMENI Ventures.

The market leader for intelligent building technology control in Germany intends to use the fresh capital, among other things, to expand its product range and strive for European market leadership. "We want to make buildings part of the energy system of the future," says founder and CEO Johannes Fütterer. "Thanks to digitization and artificial intelligence, buildings can become part of the energy revolution - as virtual power stations that are part of a smart grid."

The PropTech team develops solutions to operate buildings sustainably, efficiently and transparently. With the AI-based cloud platform, the energy consumption, CO2 emissions and operating costs of buildings can be reduced and their sustainability improved. A win-win-win for owners, operators and tenants. The company combines engineering and information technology expertise in a broad portfolio of solutions.
